The Church of God
Almost 2,000 years ago, Jesus Christ started the Church of God, giving His original Apostles a dual commission: first, take the Gospel He had taught them into all the world, and second, care for those who would be called into the Church. In recent history, Herbert W. Armstrong powerfully carried the Gospel to millions around the globe, developing a massive international work in publishing, radio and television. Mr. Armstrong also put in place a spiritual organization to serve the tens of thousands God called into His True Church. He was active in this endeavor until his death in 1986. It is our goal to carry on this Work as described in our Mission Statement:
We are committed to continuing on the path laid down by God through the doctrines, teachings, practices and traditions taught by Mr. Herbert W. Armstrong—as proven from the Holy Bible—Old and New Testaments. By faith, we are going through every door God opens to us to preach the Gospel, the good news of the Kingdom of God, to all the world as a witness. By faith, we are going to train ministers and raise up churches to guide and nourish the brethren so that together we can earnestly contend for the faith once delivered and hold fast the faithful word as we have been taught. Our goal is to carry out this two-fold commission, of preaching the gospel and feeding the flock, that we may fulfill our calling from God and grow unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, and at His coming, be a glorious church, holy and without spot or wrinkle or blemish.
